Thanks to my vampy lash extensions, I’m now totally into sixties eyes - blackish, or dark at least - with plenty of liner, but without the heavy handedness of the authentic Biba/Mary Quant look. I’m teaming dark eyes with creamy pale lips in nude-toned pinks and peaches from Bobbi Brown (Pink Blossom mainly) and Besame Voluptuous in Champagne) and a little pop of Le Metier blush in Orgasm beating ‘Echo’. Current loves for dark eyes are La Ligne de Chanel Professional Eyeliner in Noir Lame - mattest, darkest black on one side and a shimmer shot black on the other. I’m using the Laura Mercier flat lining method on the inner upper rim with this cake liner which I have (many bloodshot attempts later) got the hang of. For those who haven’t used this method, the aim is to make lashes and inner upper lid look seamless for a very dark effect - so you’re going for the roots of the lashes as well as the inner rims. My second love is Dior Ultra Smooth High Impact Eyeshadow mono in Trendy Taupe. It’s a kind of mushroom/grey hybrid that isn’t as easy to blend as it should be but every time I wear it, people comment on it, so it seems worth the extra effort. It just gives a sexy, heavy-lidded look that is spot on with blackest lashes. The Chanel liner isn’t a new product but inexplicably doesn’t seem to have had the attention it deserves. I think I paid around the £20 mark for it, and the Dior mono is £19.
