Red lips! We’re talking not just any old red, but some of the most beautiful variations in shades of everything from sassy siren and dark wine stain to fresh, delicious berry-red. In one of the key makeup trends for Fall the lip comes in various incarnations; at Jason Wu the eye is played down in favor of a dark, almost gothic stain pared with the palest skin; Gucci gave it a slightly eighties influence by combining colorful and masterfully blended eyes with a bright matte but classic red lip; at Dolce & Gabbana the look was luxe, rich & elegant with a swoosh of heavy black eyeliner on lids and a slash of red on lips; while Bottega Veneta gave it an elegant and wearable spin with defined berry… What you should walk away with from all of this is that if you don’t already have a stash of great red lipsticks in your makeup arsenal for Fall, go get yourself some!
