Why I’m Smiling: Botox
Submitted by British Beauty Blogger

A visit to Ravi at Courthouse Clinics this evening has certainly put a smile on my face. He’s injected filler to either side of my mouth in the small downturn creases that were threatening to leave me looking permanently glum. It’s such an instant fix - my mouth immediately looks rested, younger and the downturns are completely gone. While it still feels a little bit tender, I did manage the jabs without Emla (an local anaesthetic cream) and had a couple of little drops to some upper lip creases, too. Normally, I can’t let a needle near my lips without a dental jab, but it was truthfully a breeze. However, the Botox jabs hurt more than normal. Having Botox feels literally like a pin prick with a tiny burn afterwards, but it is so fleeting that it’s more than worth it for the wrinkle free results. I’m a huge fan of Botox - nothing shifts wrinkles like the jab and sometimes I wonder if the chase for perfection with anti-ageing creams is just too crazy when there is something that truly does the job properly. What Botox can’t do of course is make your skin glow, or make it any more refined or softer. Anyway, the positive psychological effects - on me at least - of having an instant anti-ageing boost - can’t be measured.
