It happens every season like clockwork. I’m once again obsessed with the fashion and beauty crystal ball that is fashion week. But who doesn’t get inspired by all the creativity in the air, not to mention the long line of stylish, gorgeous muses? Although my dream to one day see only organic beauty products backstage seems terribly distant, there’s nothing stopping us from re-creating runway looks with some of our natural beauty favorites right now. One of the prettiest trends emerging on the fall beauty front is matte ruby red or berry lips, a la Luca Luca, Charlotte Ronson and Ruffian. MAC’s James Kaliardos created the effortless, Carolyn Bessette-inspired makeup for Ruffian’s show and it’s easy to match, with the right bold lip shade. Try Aveda’s Nourish-Mint Smoothing lipstick in Poppy or Logona’s lipstick pencil in Ruby, lightly feathered on until you completely fill in your lips.
