A Diet Tip for All

Did you ever read a list of diet tips and want to throw up? They all focus in on the positive. Tips include drink a lot of water. Another tip you see often is replace a candy bar with an apple. Oh yeah, like that really works when you’re in the mood for 3 pounds of Hershey Bars.

I recently read a tip which I need to share with all. Here it is and enjoy:

There will be those days when you’re in the mood for a pint of Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey or a huge piece of Chocolate Mousse or a Double Mocha Chocolate Frappuccino or a Big Mac or two boston creme donuts or a candy bar from Godiva. When you have that desire and that mood and you really have that craving, jump in your car or on your bicycle and don’t hesitate and just go for it. Crave it, love it and if you’re really committed to your diet, you’ll probably conclude that it wasn’t so good after all. Actually, be proud of yourself because you’re still on your way to dieting success and you’re still on your way to shedding those unwanted pounds. Just don’t do it for another week.

Why? Because every diet starts with a lifestyle change. No lifestyle change is successful in which deprivation is a foundation of that lifestyle. Do you really believe you got 30 or 50 pounds overweight from giving into those cravings once a week? Highly unlikely. It’s like an exercise program. The commitment to exercise and dieting usually does not fail based on a one day reprieve from the program. The key is to get right back on the wagon next day.
